Part of the Blainville-sur-L'Eau marshalling yard 30Km south of Nancy disappears under a cloud of bomb bursts in this strike photo taken on the 25th of March 1944. The yard was on the list of targets on the the "Transportation Plan" designed to prepare the way for the invasion by destroying the transport infrastructure in western Europe to preven the Germans moving men and materiel to western France.
