Caligny Square

A 4 gun battery of Anti Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion (mobile) on the march through the town on Caligny.

The 90mm AA Guns M1A1 are limbered behind their prime movers, the Tractor, High Speed M4.

The US 90mm AA gun was the direct equivalent of the famous German 88 with the exception that it was largely retained in the AA role ensuring its obscurity today.

It was however later mounted (in its M3 version) in the late war M36 tank destroyer where the 90mm gun was valued for its ability to knock out all German armour even the Tiger II at a useful distance.
