Two GI's lie dead after fighting around Rânes and the Fromentel crossroads, two of the 90 Americans who would die in the area between the 14th and 19th of August 1944. They were members of the 3rd Armoured Division. Dropped on the ground near one of the soldiers is a M1 Garand rifle.
