This bunker formed the communications center for the German 709 ID.
The American seen to the right of the picture carries the ID badge of a civilian in the employ of the War Department (white triangle with a blue square behind, US letters in triangle) He was probably a member of Operation Crossbow which was the US intelligence effort to gather infomation on the German V1 rocket.
