Two young French girls welcome General Eisenhower to the Chambois area with a bouquet of flowers.
Eisenhower was visiting the area on his way to Paris on the 26th of August, with the intention of inspecting the battlefield.
The car is a Cadillac model 75 sedan, commonly used to transport VIP's. The military models of this car differed from the civilian models by being painted olive drab, had their front and year lights covered by blackout covers and had their shock absorbers reinforced.
