Generals Eisenhower and Bradey inspect huge V2 launch site captured under construction

Located at Sottevast-Brix 13k south of Cherbourg this huge site was selected in 1943 as a V2 launch site and a part of the Reservelager West complex of V2 launch sites. It soon came to the attention of Allied air reconnaissance and was a priority target. Up until its capture by 315th IR of the 79th US ID, on 21 June 1944 it was attacked from the air no fewer than 10 times by a total of 261 aircraft dropping 1725 bombs with a total weight of 602 tonnes.
