German POW's captured in Operation Totalize are marched to the rear.

These Germans were captured by the South Saskachewan Regiment and are seen being moved to POW cages on the 8th of August 1944.

Facing the Canadians on this occasion apart from SS troops were elements of Infantry Divisions 85, 89, 271 and 277.

To the rear of the column is what appears to be a half track carrying more soldiers, possibly the guards.

The German on the second row looking at the camera seems to be carrying what looks like a bananna, maybe thats why he looks so happy ?

To the left behind the hedge is a camoflaged truck that has caught the attention of one of the Germans. It appears to be a 30CWT CMP or Canadian Military Pattern. These were vehicles of British specification built in Canada for British and Commonwealth troops. For example, they were built in right hand drive despite being built in North America. These vehicles were produced by the Chevrolet branch of General Motors Corporation and by Ford Canada.
