A GI tries out a SR9 observation periscope at WN. 83 (Maisy-La Perruque) This position contained a battery of 15.5 cm Sfh414(f) short barrel Schneider guns captured from the French in 1940. They originally formed part of French divisional heavy artillery. The battery was manned by 716ID divisional artillery, until it was captured bu the 5th Ranger Battalion on June the 9th.
