Three Japanese Americans of the famous 442nd RCT crew a Jeep with a white officer as a passenger.

The 442nd RCT was formed out of second generation Japanese Americans (so called Nisei) who choose to fight for their country of birth against the Axis. It started the war in Italy before being moved to France in September 1944

Picture taken in the area of Chambois, around the time of early Autumn 1944.

Note the piece of metal welded to the front bumper of the jeep, this was a countermeasure against a favourite German trick of stringing wire over a road at head height with the intention of decapitating passengers in passing Jeeps.
