This 141C locomotive number 168 pulled the first train to leave Cherbourg station after its liberation. This was made possible by the 729th Railway Operating Bn and French railway workers and it travelled to Carentan.

One of the French railway workers is wearing an Adrian helmet, perhaps feared a bumpy ride ?
