Rear of a fixed V1 launch ramp - with netting removed.

This V1 launch site was built 10km south east of Cherbourg near the hamlet of Sorellerie. The Germans stopped building large fixed sites and began to use small semi mobile sites after the large sites became obvious if very well defended targets for Allied air power.

The actual launch ramp went between the two walls, the walls were there to protect the launch crew in case of the V1 exploding on the launcher. It has been removed on this occasion.
