Inhabitants of a village cheer the passing of this M3A3 light tank. It was named "Grenoble" by its crew and served with the headquarters squadron of the 12ème Régiment de Cuirassiers.
The 2nd French Armoured division commenced unloading at Utah beach on August 1st, 1944 and was commited in action on the 7th near Avranches.
