US Armour moves through Domfront

A Sherman tank of the 67th Tank Regiment, 2nd Armoured Division advances through Domfront along rue Saint Julien supported by infantry.

Picture taken on the 14th of August 1944. The GI on the left wears the mottled pattern camouflage that was issued for a short time to troops of the 41st Armored Infantry Rgt and 17th Armored Engineer Bn. It was similar to the camouflage pattern worn by the SS, leading to its swift withdrawal from use in fear of friendly fire incidents.
