Cherbourg cermony to honour civilian victims, 14th of July 1944.

Representatives of the Allied nations take part on the 14th of July ceremony to remember the civilian dead, in front of the city theatre. To the right under the Union Flag are members of the British armed forces, to the left are members of the American armed forces. In the center is a floral tribute to the French civilians killed during the occupation and later fighting.

On this day a street in Cherbourg was renamed in honour of General De Gaulle.
