German communications bunker, Place Champ de Mars.

This bunker was located next to the St Lo postoffice building, no doubt due to its concentration of telephone lines. It served as a communications hub for German forces but was effectively made useless by the Resistance on June the 5th 1944 when they sabotaged the telephone lines leading to it.

The resistance group responsible was later cornered by the Germans in Beaucoudray, and almost entirely wiped out.
