GI's peer apprehensively at the approaching Norman coast as their Higgins boat takes them to the beach.

It was one of the 18 LCVP's that landed 3rd Battalion, 18th Infantry around 10:30 on June the 6th. The smoke coming from beyond the beach is probably the same as seen in the previous picture. They were landed west of Wn65 which was already cleared by preceeding troops, under direct command of Brig. Gen. Willard G. Wyman, 2nd in command of the 1st US ID.
