The French rail system was a priority target before and during the invasion period, as seen by the number of craters plastered over this railway line north of Agneaux near St Lo. While the line has indeed been cut by air attack it seems as if the bridge has been dropped by demolition charges either laid by the resistance or the retreating Germans.
