Much demolished German equipment, Falaise Pocket.

Yet more demolished German equipment, underlining the vast material losses the Germans suffered in Normandy.

In this picture there is also many dead horses, much of the German army at the time was horse drawn.

Also there is a SdKfz 250, an Opel Blitz, a Kubelwagen and a FH18 howitzer.

One of a series of low level pictures taken of destroyed German equipment that littered the Falaise Pocket area, much of it destroyed by Allied tactical airpower that roamed at will over the roads packed with the transport of the 7th Army as it tried to escape the pocket through the small corridor held open up to the 19th of August. Allied artillery and a simple shortage of fuel completed the loss of most of the armies transport and heavy weapons.
