In this picture there is a Pz IV tank, a number of Kubelwagons, a Schwimwagen, a SdKfz 7 prime mover, a Opel Maultier towing a FH 18 howitzer, a SdKfz 251 Ausf. D, a Nebelwerfer 41, 88mm Flak and a number of horse drawn carts. Most of which are thoroughly demolished.
One of a series of low level pictures taken of destroyed German equipment that littered the Falaise Pocket area, much of it destroyed by Allied tactical airpower that roamed at will over the roads packed with the transport of the 7th Army as it tried to escape the pocket through the small corridor held open up to the 19th of August. Allied artillery and a simple shortage of fuel completed the loss of most of the armies transport and heavy weapons.
