1st Dvision assault troops wade ashore from their LCVP at Easy Red Sector, Omaha Beach opposite Saint Laurent sur Mer at 07:30.

This LCVP, more commonly known as a Higgins Boat, was crewed by US Coast Guard volunteers and was based on the U.S.S. Samuel Chase (APA 26). It has grounded on a sandbank leaving the troops a long slog through the surf to the uncertain safety of the beach.

On the beach the dark object is a tank A Co, 741st Tank Bn, landed to support the assault troops.
