GI's of the US Army Signal Corps placing a telephone line in Domfront, nearAlençon Tower on the crossroads of rue du Maréchal Foch and Grande Rue.

The town was liberated by the 30th Infantry Division and elements of the 2nd Armoured Division on the 15th of August.
