On the far right is the name "Ries" drawn on a wall, probably let by the Germans who would place the name of a commanding officer on a wall so that stragglers of the unit could rejoin it.
On this occasion the officer in question could be Hauptmann Josef Ries of Sturmgeschütz-Brigade 394, a unit that was in the area in early August.
