These beached LCT's are seen on Juno beach opposite Bernières. The right hand LCT Mk5 carries the serial 2270.
It belongs to the 102nd LCT Flotilla under the command of Captain RFC Struben RN (retired) The 102nd Flotilla formed part of K Squadron, J1 force on D-Day. The rest of J1 force comprised 48 LCT of the 4th, 20th, and 31st flotillas and it landed the 7th infantry brigade of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division in the west of Juno beach in Mike Green, Mike Red and Nan Green sectors.
