This civilian building has been converted into a communications bunker by the Germans, a use continued by the liberating Americans. The bottom half of the building has been rebuilt in concrete and the internal cealing reinforced by five steel beams seen protuding out of the end wall.

This facilty was used as a radio station for the "Communication Zone" which was the zone behind the front line and was situated off Rue President Loubet, in Cherbourg.
