German POW's sit in front of defensive position Wn 28 that only a few hours before stood ready to repel the Canadians who guard the POW's.
The Germans were members of 5 Kompanie, II Battalion Grenadier Regiment 736, 716 ID.
Their guards at the rear is a member of either the Canadian or British army Provost Corps (Military Police) and is a motorcyclist judging by his helmet.
The soldier at the front is George William Beers of the North Shore Regiment (New Brunswick).
