Sherman tank of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers support the Mount-Royal Fusiliers, Falaise

Tank 14 of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers supports the Mount-Royal Fusiliers in the assault on the "l'Ecole Supérieure de Jeunes Filles " (Girls School) on the crossroads of rue des Prémontrés and rue Saint-Jean in Caen. Here a few score of SS grenadiers belonging tol Eingreifgruppe SS-Sturmbannführer Krause (12th SS Panzer Division Hitlerjugend) was cut off from Germans lines and fighting to the end. Picture taken on 17th of August 1944 by a Lieutenant Grant.
